As mining activities intensified in the twilight years of the industrial revolution, competition for natural resources grew fierce and industrialists burrowed themselves deeper and deeper into the sodden depths of the earth. One mining operation dug deeper than any other, and the events that followed this endeavor have become the stuff of myth and legend. What little information is known about the venture centers on the discovery of a new and powerful element, an element known simply as ‘The Great Shard’.
The Great Shard’s mystical properties not only accelerated the industrial revolution dramatically, but also altered the world around it, spawning creatures and phenomena that defied every natural law imaginable. The world would never be the same. Soon, the mad industrialist known only as ‘the Keeper’ had learned to control the power of the Great Shard. Their lust for progress extended beyond the industrial world through which they had gained their power, and morphed into an obsession with biogenetic modifications. People who indulged in this practice of self mutation became known as the Mutagen.
Now, many years later, the Keeper of the Shard is nearing the end of his unnaturally extended life, and you are one of four Mutagen in the running to take over their position of power. The Keeper will be observing your every move, and will choose only one successor before he draws his final breath.
Mutagen is a customizable worker placement game set in a 1920s biopunk universe. Each player has four workers that each react differently to the areas they are placed in. Each time a player places a worker, they will activate that location's action, plus an additional action determined by the worker's color. Players can unlock the full potential of biological upgrades, by infusing their workers with biological upgrades that will grant them a decisive edge over their opponents.
Each worker location has been forever transformed by vast bio-enhanced changes. Collect elements from the floating cities and use them in various ways. Trade them for objective cards, establish dominance over particular elements through strategic investments, or harness their energy to upgrade your airship. With each move, you accumulate points, driving you closer to victory at different stages of the game.
The player who has best harnessed the newfound powers of this biopunk universe, and used them to collect the most amount of points after four years (rounds) will win the game.

Processing Time for Returns
Returns are processed the day of receipt and will be reflected on your bank statement within 5-7 business days.
Return Shipping Costs
We cover return shipping costs for damaged or incorrect items. Return shipping fees for such items will be added to the customer's account as store credit.
Items Not Eligible for Refunds or Exchanges
Certain items cannot be returned or exchanged, including:

Opened boxes or sealed products

Perishable goods (such as Sealed Product)

Custom products (special orders or personalized items)
Return Method for Restricted Items
Items such as opened trading card packs or sealed products cannot be returned once opened. If you have questions about specific items, please contact us prior to purchasing.
Gift Returns
Gift returns will be processed as store credit for the value of the item, provided proof of purchase or a gift receipt is provided.
Damaged/Defective Item Handling
If you receive a damaged or defective item, please photograph the damage upon delivery and email the photos to us through our contact page within 24 hours. If the damage is not reported within this time frame, your return request may be rejected. We will assess the issue and determine the best solution, including issuing a refund or replacement.
Refunding Method
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the order. If the original payment method is unavailable (e.g., expired credit card), we will issue a refund via store credit.
Order Modifications
Orders can be modified until they are shipped out. Modifications can generally be made within 1–3 business days of placing your order. If your order has already been shipped, modifications cannot be made.

Refunds for Special Events or Tournaments
Event entry fees are refundable up to 24 hours before the event begins. If you cannot attend an event and contact us within 24 hours with a legitimate reason or emergency, your refund request may be considered at our discretion. Refunds are not available after the 24-hour period.
Over Restricted Limits

Exceeding Purchase Limits: Desert City Games reserves the right to adjust the order. This may include canceling items that exceed the limit, adjusting quantities, or issuing a refund for the excess purchase.

Refunds for Over-Limit Purchases: Any orders that exceed purchase limits will be refunded for the excess amount or canceled, at the store’s discretion.

Order Rejection: The store reserves the right to reject or cancel any order at its discretion. This includes, but is not limited to, orders that appear fraudulent, violate store policies, or are placed in error.

Full Discretion: Refunds may be issued for rejected orders, but the store has full discretion in determining the eligibility for a refund based on the circumstances. Refunds for canceled or rejected orders are not guaranteed, and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
